Guess it's time for a new post. They must be working Matt hard because now he even wants to take a nap in the morning before they start! Actually, I think it has to do with the fact that the nurses still insist on taking vitals, etc. at all hours of the night. He is walking about 40 yards twice a day now with the walker. Lately, his knee has been giving out some, so the PT is going to come up with some new exercises this week to help that. And his arm is getting stronger; on Friday he was doing wall push-ups! I don't think I mentioned that he first moved his left arm a week ago Saturday just when I was about to leave, so that was the best going home gift ever! His balance has gotten much better, too. Sarah said that he is now able to sit up, swing his legs around to the floor, stand, and sit down in the wheelchair on his own. Tomorrow he will see an ENT doctor to check his vocal cords. Though his voice is getting stronger, it's still not back to normal. So Matt continues to work hard to reach his goal of being home when we come for Christmas on Dec. 20. He's got all kinds of projects lined up for Steve to do! I also wanted everyone to know that if you want to send a card, he has changed to Room 723 (which means that his phone number has also changed to 318-681-1723. Thanks so much for your continued prayers. Right now it's especially tough for Sarah because her sister just left and she will be alone until her mom comes around Dec. 12 for a week.

Hi Matt and Sarah,
So glad to hear that all is progressing well. We really do appreciate the postings.
Hope you are both getting to enjoy some special foods (other than hospital food) with the holiday season here.
We are getting a bit of snow which of course reminds me of the time we left you in the snow and drove off Matt!
Keith is going to go ice fishing for the first time. We actually just got ice on the lakes this past week.
Love to you both! Keith and Linda
