Hey all! We just got back this past week from several days up in the Twin Cities. We had a lot of fun staying with Aunt Lindsay and seeing all of the Role's crew, including several of Karen's family members that I or Theydon had not met. It was beautiful up in Minneapolis and makes us think that we could definetely see ourselves being Twin City "Yankees" in the future if that's a possibility. The weather felt so nice and cool! It was a nice relief from the heat and humidity that Shreveport is during the summer.
The Air Force has pushed back the time before we know what the MEB decision will be (not totally surprised here, but a bit irritating still). We are now being told that it will be 8-12 weeks before we hear anything...so we could still be in Shreveport come this fall. We are thankful for great friends here and are not complaining about this...its just a bit frustrating b/c meanwhile I don't feel Matt is getting very good therapy here, or seeing the best doctors that he could see. So of course, now we are thinking will it be October or November before he can get up to Froedert (one of the top rehab hospitals in the country-which is in Milwaukee)? We would really appreciate your guys prayer on this...that he will give us patience and that the Air Force will make a good decision regarding us. It has not been easy trying to get used to the idea of being out of the Air Force--however, we know that this is not the worst case scenario obviously! Matt has recently had a couple of seizures and we ask for you to cover us in prayer with that as well....I would happily give up our time in the Air Force to have him completely well again and as mobile as he used to be.
With all that to say we are looking forward to the rest of the summer in Shreveport. We will keep you all updated with things as we go along...hopefully you are all having a wonderful summer!
