Matt was evaluated by someone from the rehab center yesterday and had a CT scan that was clear, so he will be moved to Shumpert Medical Center this morning. He is having more feeling on his left side. His toes have actually moved, but right now that is happening more as a response to pain (like when they took the boot off his foot)rather than him telling it to move. When I was massaging his foot last night, his toe was moving like crazy so I thought he must be doing it but he said that it was because I was digging my fingernails into his feet! He has really been requesting to have his calves and back massaged, too. I was thinking that having volunteer massage therapists at hospitals would be a great idea! He has also been sitting in a chair longer each day and the PT had him standing again for awhile yesterday.
On Sunday Matt was able to stay awake all day and talk with visitors. His right eye is much stronger now, too, and he is able to keep it open almost constantly. We had Theydon here for almost 3 hours and this time he sat in the bed with Matt and Sarah and read books and let his daddy tickle him and play with him more. So he getting more used to the hospital room, but he still doesn't like going up the elevator!
Once we get over to the rehab center I will get an address. Matt has also started to answer emails so you could email him at mattjroles@hotmail.com.

...let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith....so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

It is great to be able to read of Matt's progress on here. Is it Karen updating this blog right now? We are delighted to hear he is recovering well and will continue to pray for his rehab, for Sarah & Theydon, & for their future.
